About CapitolGains
US Congress Stock Trade Disclosure Tracker
CapitolGains tracks stock trades disclosed by US Congress members under the STOCK Act in real time. Monitor buy and sell activity by Nancy Pelosi, Markwayne Mullin, and other House and Senate members.
Why Track Congress Members' Stock Trades?
US Congress members have access to far more information than ordinary investors through corporate regulation, government contracts, and legislative activity. The STOCK Act mandates disclosure of their stock trades to reduce this information asymmetry.
- ✓ Identify connections between legislative trends and specific industries
- ✓ Analyze members' investment patterns and portfolios
- ✓ Spot indirect signals about policy direction
- ✓ Monitor potential insider trading concerns
What is the STOCK Act?
The STOCK Act (Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act), enacted in 2012, prohibits insider trading by Congress members and federal officials, and requires mandatory disclosure of stock trades.
